Notes on Expanding this Article

[edit]

There are a number of ways this article could be expanded. A History subheading could trace Cypriotism from the 1920s to today. It is important to note in such a section the academic disparity-disagreement over its origins. Additionally, it is important to note that after the partition of the island, we cannot speak of a single Cypriotism, but of expressions of Cypriotism on each side of the island's divide. There are intrinsic links between cypriotist ideology and bi-communalism, without the latter collapsing into the former. Finally, cypriotism should not be equated with civic nationalism. The position that it is civic nationalism is connected with Mavratsas and Peristianis, who were analysing cypriotism among Greek Cypriots at a particular point in time. Although it is scattered, there is sufficient academic literature to produce a worthwhile article here. I currently do not have the time to do so, but when I do, I will try to expand the article accordingly. Tco03displays (talk) 11:46, 25 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
